Livelihoods & Market Access

SJMPC strengthens livelihoods by enabling women and micro-entrepreneurs to move beyond skills training toward sustainable and consistent income. Through an integrated approach—combining skill development, business training, enterprise support, and market linkages—clear pathways to economic independence are created.

Support extends across the full enterprise journey—from idea validation and startup support to business stabilization and growth. Members are assisted in identifying viable opportunities, improving product and service quality, and accessing local and network-based markets. Collective platforms further enhance bargaining power, reduce individual risk, and enable shared learning.

By addressing both individual capabilities and ecosystem barriers, enterprises are viable, resilient, and positioned for long-term growth.

Digital Platform: Business Ready App

The Business Ready App is a digital platform designed to support micro-entrepreneurs—particularly women and youth in the informal sector—by strengthening both enterprise growth and cooperative systems.

It enables members to build professional profiles, access training, connect with customers, and adopt digital financial practices, improving visibility and market access. Enterprise development is further supported through business guidance, growth tracking, branding support, and access to credit and relevant schemes.

For the cooperative, the platform provides member tracking, digital payments integration, and data-driven insights, enabling more efficient planning, monitoring, and service delivery.

Together, it creates a connected, data-enabled ecosystem that strengthens livelihoods and supports scale.

Skills & Capacity Building

Members are equipped with market-relevant skills to adapt and grow within the informal economy, where capabilities often remain underdeveloped or unrecognized.

Training spans technical trades, digital literacy, and safety awareness, reinforced through peer cohorts and hands-on practice. This creates a supportive environment to build confidence and apply skills in real-world contexts.

By linking skills to market demand and income opportunities, members are better positioned to access more stable and diverse livelihoods.

Financial Services

Members are supported in building strong financial foundations through savings, credit access, and financial literacy—key barriers in the informal sector.

Structured support in savings, credit readiness, and access to micro-loans through cooperatives and partners enables a transition toward more reliable financial systems. Training in digital payments and basic bookkeeping further strengthens financial management.

This leads to greater financial confidence, discipline, and long-term resilience.

Social Security & Entitlements

Access to social protection systems is strengthened by enabling underserved communities to navigate public services often limited by awareness, documentation gaps, and complex processes.

Support includes documentation, scheme enrolment, insurance linkages, and application guidance, ensuring individuals and families can secure their rights and benefits efficiently and with dignity.

Improved access enhances financial and social security while reducing vulnerability.

Infrastructure & Basic Services

Access to essential urban services such as water, sanitation, and civic infrastructure is strengthened through on-ground facilitation and system navigation.

Members are supported in connecting with city systems, addressing service gaps, and accessing related entitlements, while building awareness of processes and rights.

This contributes to more reliable, equitable services and improved living conditions.

Education & Health Services

Children and families are supported in accessing quality education and essential healthcare, addressing barriers to learning and timely care.

Education initiatives span early childhood to secondary levels, including Balghars, tuition support, STEM learning, and scholarships for girls.

A focus on preventive and primary healthcare, especially for women and children, enables early detection and improved health outcomes.

Together, these efforts strengthen wellbeing and expand long-term opportunities.

Identity, Collective Platforms & Democratic Governance

Members are organized into collective platforms across occupations, geographies, and communities—strengthening visibility, solidarity, and representation. These networks enable individuals to be recognized as contributors to the local economy, while creating opportunities to engage, collaborate, and access resources.

Digital systems are integrated within this framework to support transparent, accountable, and member-led governance. Structured data and service tracking enhance planning and delivery, while consent-based data use and impact reporting ensure responsible practices. Guided by the principle of one member—one vote, governance remains inclusive and participatory.

Together, strong collective identity and responsive digital systems reinforce trust, deepen collective ownership, and strengthen communities’ ability to advocate for their rights with confidence.
